Claims Assistant
The Oregon State Bar Professional Liability Fund (PLF) is hiring a full-time claims assistant to join the PLF Claims Department. The PLF is the mandatory provider of primary legal malpractice coverage for Oregon lawyers in private practice. As a PLF Claims Assistant, you will provide support and coverage for the Claims Department. Primary job duties will include: secretarial and clerical support for the PLF claims attorneys, primarily as a floater to cover vacations, sabbaticals, illnesses, etc.; maintenance of departmental records and files; backup for Claims Department file opening/closing; administrative assistance to the PLF’s Practice Management Assistance Program with office closures; and reception desk relief.
Preferred applicants will have:
- Computer and MS Office proficiency
- Strong editing, transcription, proofreading, and grammatical skills
- Experience working in litigation and/or insurance
- Experience with paperless filing systems
- The ability to be organized, flexible, and professional
- Oregon notary certification
This position is based in Tigard. The salary range is $46,118-58,516, depending on experience. The PLF offers an excellent benefits package, including participation in the Oregon PERS/OPSRP retirement program, health insurance, and other benefits.
