Steve Carpenter
1955 – 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce that PLF Claims Attorney Steven Carpenter died peacefully on Saturday, July 16, 2016, with loved ones by his side. Admitted to the Oregon Bar in 1991, he worked in private practice until joining the PLF as a Claims Attorney in 2000. Steve had a lifelong interest in French culture, having studied in France and obtaining his undergraduate degree in French from Lewis & Clark College in 1977. Professionally, he spoke and wrote widely on lawyer liability issues, but he will be most remembered for his compassion for lawyers facing malpractice claims. A friend and valued colleague, his death is a tremendous loss for the PLF and for Oregon lawyers. 

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2016, in the Agnes Flanagan Chapel, on the Lewis & Clark College campus.
