PLF Welcomes New Board Members in 2022

The PLF is pleased to announce that Alexandra Hilsher (Eugene) and Michelle Johansson (Portland) have been appointed as new board members effective January 1, 2022. Ms. Hilsher’s and Ms. Johansson’s terms will conclude at the end of 2026.

Alexandra (Ali) Hilsher (Lawyer Member) – Eugene

Ms. Hilsher received her JD in 2011 from the University of Oregon School of Law in Eugene, Oregon, and her BA, summa cum laude, in 2008 from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana, majoring in Political Science.

Ms. Hilsher clerked for the Honorable Timothy J. Sercombe on the Oregon Court of Appeals from 2011 to 2013. She has worked at Hershner Hunter LLP in Eugene, Oregon, first as an associate and now as a partner, from 2013 to the present, where she represents businesses and individuals in all stages of litigation.
 

Michelle Johansson (Lawyer Member) – Portland

Ms. Johansson earned her JD, cum laude, in 2005 from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, her Bachelor of Education in 1998 from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia, her Graduate Diploma in Sports Administration in 1996 from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, and her BA in 1993 from Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island.

Ms. Johansson clerked for the Honorable Henry Kantor in the Multnomah County Circuit Court from 2006 to 2007. She was a partner at Cartwright Johansson PC in Portland, Oregon, from 2007 to 2021 before opening her own firm, Johansson Law LLC, specializing in probate litigation and administration.

These new members will join current PLF Directors Gina Johnnie (Chair) (Salem), Oren Haker (Vice Chair) (Portland), Chris Karlin (Public Member) (Secretary-Treasurer) (Portland), Harshi Waters (Portland), Michael Batlan (Public Member) (Salem), Steve Hill (Pendleton), and Akeem Williams (Portland).
 
We extend our warmest thanks to outgoing board members Holly Mitchell (Portland) and Julia Manela (Eugene) for their years of excellent service.
